WENDY BEACH
Melding the many musical styles Wendy listened to and played while growing up in the Detroit area, her passion for music lends a versatile, timeless quality rooted in the blues.
Wendy has been singing, playing guitar, and bass guitar for over 40 years. She’s been a featured vocalist with the prestigious Nelson Riddle Orchestra (Frank Sinatra’s band), performed with Frank Morgan, performed and recorded with New York and
New Mexico notables, including saxophonist Doug Lawrence and trumpeter Michael Morreale. Wendy has won numerous
New Mexico MicLine Awards for recordings with vocalist Michel Herndon. Wendy performed and recorded with John Trentacosta’s celebrated Santa Fe jazz band Straight Up, and appears on their much acclaimed CD “Live in the Desert”. She was bassist for the premier Albuquerque favorite extravaganza Bawdy and Soul with Patty Stephens and Dianna Hughes. Wendy is also a frequent performer for the NM Jazz Workshop’s unfailingly sold-out concerts of Ladies Sing the Blues.
Wendy regularly performs with songwriter Terry Diers in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and with the R & B band Loose Shoes that includes guitarist Dimi Disanti and drummer Melvin Crisp. Wendy’s CD of jazz standards entitled “The Martini Sessions” is now available.
