JQ WHITCOMB QUARTET
What would be more fitting than to end our 2018 concert series with one of the most powerful performers and composers to grow up in Santa Fe. Since he was a young student, JQ Whitcomb has stood out above the crowd in his pursuit of musical excellence. He has taken up residence in New York City, where his passion to be a professional musician has resulted in a full graduate scholarship in jazz studies at the world renown Julliard School of Music. Each year upon JQ’s return to New Mexico, one can immediately hear the rapid growth and maturity that can only come by being in New York among the best musicians in the world. This concert performance will be an exclusive in Santa Fe featuring new music by JQ along with the standards that have long become the litmus test for any serious jazz musician.
